About Safer Cities

Sara Yousuf has spent her career focused on making our communities safer. As a lawyer, she has been both a public defender and a prosecutor. She also has a journalism degree from the University of Miami; and, prior to helping launch Safer Cities, she produced a short-form social news show focused on crime and safety.

Jonathan Chavez has emerged as one of the most talented analytical minds in America. His statistical models have been used to predict everything from political elections to the efficiency of NBA players, to success on the PGA Tour and box office openings.

Matt Ferner is a journalist whose work on crime, justice, prosecutors, and police has influenced policy and been cited in academic journals and legal briefs.
